Logan Square
At the center of the Milwaukee / Logan / Kedzie six-way (which is really more of a rotary) lies the Illinois Centennial Monument. This marks the center of Logan Square, which was demarcated as the northernmost terminus of the West Parks Boulevard System in the 1870s. The city’s boulevard system was created to link nearby townships with the lakefront and the ever-expanding city. The marble monument at the center of Logan Square commemorates the 100th anniversary of Illinois statehood, dedicated in 1918.

New Door
A new door on the same building signals the rediscovery and rehabilitation ("gentrification") of the neighborhood.
